Here is the tentative schedule for the grad-led discussions-
Oct. 7 (readings handed out Sept. 30) Tori Greising- select essays from "The Language of Fashion"- Roland Barthes 1968, translated by Andy Stafford
Oct-19 (readings handed out Oct 12) Emily Biondo
Oct 28 (readings handed out Oct 21) Hedieh!
Nov. 9 (readings handed out Nov 2) Michael Sloan
Nov 18 (readings handed out Nov 11) Bobby Coleman
Please check your calendars and make sure you are available for all dates.
Each student must select a reading and have copies handed out to the class no later than one week before the discussion takes place. The readings do not have to directly relate to or be about video or multimedia art (or about art at all, for that matter), though we will examine them in the context of multimedia. Please make sure readings are of sufficient length and complexity to sustain a good discussion, though not too long. Two short and related readings may substitute for one of reasonable length.
